Who is Uncle gray?

Graham Dickie aka Uncle Gray, is a VJ, animator, stage designer and multi-media artist, currently based in Melbourne, Australia.

He has been creating and performing visuals live for 6 years. Exclusively creating his own visual content he started making fractal animations, using Mandelbulb3D. In recent years, he has been using Touch Designer to create more immersive, interactive and organic visuals. However, he has a deep content library for every music style and occasion.

He has been heavily involved with installation, management and operation of live visuals at music festivals. For the past 4 years, he has worked with Twisted Frequency Festival, managing VJ crews of up to 18 and led the installation and operation at the Chillery Stage. He also led the visuals at stages at 121 Festival and Backyard Bass, for one and two years respectively.

Working with Froth Entertainment from its inception, its expanded into an international music and arts events business operating out of Wellington, Aotearoa and Melbourne, Australia. He manages all the visuals, stage designs and lighting elements for the events. Froth hosts roughly 15 events annually, each having unique stage designs, lighting and themes. The largest one-day, four-stage event he managed, included a team of 20 VJs, LDs (lighting designers), and stage builders and an event budget of roughly $25,000.

His ethos is to curate a unique and immersive experience, from the moment you walk through the door, until the end of the event. Using the visuals and lighting to complement the music and vice-versa, to harmoniously blend everything into a single cohesive experience.
